First annual transit forum Tuesday June 2nd
At our board meeting yesterday we discussed establishing a yearly transit forum and given the long overdue accessibility upgrades to our GO station, we believe it would make sense to hold it during National AccessAbility Week on June 2nd. We have asked Metrolinx to commit to presenting their plans for our GO Station as they promised there will be news soon. There are other transit topics we should talk about and the MRA could facilitate the conversation.
Can you help with this? We are all just volunteers advocating for improvements and if you feel like contributing to the cause please say hi, don’t be strangers, we are all neighbours.
Community Environment Day Sunday June 7th
Shall we organize a repair cafe? A clothing donation drop off? A book exchange? An electronics / bike repair cafe? A free tree / shrub pickup?
Can you help with this? We are brainstorming what else is possible on the day that Mimico residents may be taking part in the city program to drop off hazardous household waste and pickup compost. Diverting things that can be repaired away from landfills is a good idea and we want to organize around that. Please let us know what you think!

20th MRA Anniversary Saturday September 19th
It’s been 20 years since incorporation of the MRA. You can read about the first 10 years here on our website. To celebrate Mimico and the many volunteer hours that have gone into strengthening our community we will meet on September 19th at Mimico Square.
If there’s talent in Mimico that wants to take the stage, we want to hear from you! There will definitely be some good food and conversations with neighbours.
Can you help with this? We are starting a committee to organize this 20th Anniversary event and would appreciate the help of neighbours.
