The idea to form Green Mimico arose in March 2024 when planning the Mimico Homeowner Energy Efficiency Workshop.
In August 2025 the MRA board of directors appointed Green Mimico as a Standing Committee of the MRA with MRA director and treasurer Michael Schwanzer as the chair of the committee.
