Kambule Fest
Date: Saturday, July 1
Time: 2:00 – 5:00 PM
Where: Amos Waites Park

From the Kikongo language of the Congo, meaning Street Procession, Kambule pays homage to our African Ancestors, our forefathers, who marked the end of slavery by taking banned cultural expressions out of hiding and onto the streets.  The Kambule is a powerful manifestation of culture, spirituality, beauty, royalty, and pride. This summer Ballet Creole is partnering with Arts in the Parks to bring Kambule across Toronto.

Kambule Fest will include a musical parade, performances, dance flash mobs, and vendors at selected Toronto Public Parks in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Great fun for the family! For more information, visit:

Canada Days at Humber Bay Park West
Date: Saturday, July 1
Time: 2:00 – 11:00 PM
Where: Humber Bay Park West, 15 MARINE PARADE DR 

Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday at Canada Days at Humber Bay Park West!

The family-friendly event features two stages with a full line-up of exciting performances by award-winning local, national and international artists creating contemporary music influenced by the cultures and communities of the Etobicoke area – Ukrainian, Polish, Filipino, South-Asian, Somali and more.

A hospitality area offering food and beverage will be available for the public throughout the day.

Site-specific dance and multi-arts performances on the water and throughout the green space will highlight the event’s location at the mouth of Mimico Creek. The night concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at 10:55 pm. 

Canada Days is produced by the City of Toronto in partnership with the Province of Ontario’s Ontario150 Program and the Government of Canada.

Mimico’s Lost Passenger Pigeon: Sculpture Installation Workshop Series
DateThursdays and Fridays, July 6- July 21 inclusive
Time: 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Location: Mimico Centennial Branch, 47 Station Road

Call for participants: Children aged 8-12 will co-create art with their parents/guardians. Participants will learn how to use clay, wire, plaster, and found objects to create collective art installations.

Mimico Summer Music Fest
Date: Friday, July 7 (and every Friday to August 25th)
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Location: Mimico Square, Lake Shore Blvd West, south side, at the foot of Mimico Ave

‘On The Brink’ Outdoor Community Workshop

Land-based Dance & Music – Combining citizen science, movement and soundscape on the shores of Lake Ontario. With percussionist and composer Germaine Liu, and choreographer Aria Evans.
