MRA Comments on Mimico 2020 Secondary Plan submitted to EYCC

The Mimico Residents Association (MRA) has followed and participated in the Mimico 20/20 planning process over the past 7 years. As stated in our previous communication (April 3, 2013), the MRA supports change in our community, as long as it is appropriately planned change. We would like to see revitalization along our lake, but not at the expense of any additional benefits to the community. Read the letter

MRA Response to current Wesley Mimico United Church Development Proposal

We recently submitted a letter to Councillor Grimes in response to the proposal submitted by Wesley Mimico United Church at our May 15 Public Meeting. The MRA Board feels that, based on community comments over the year as well as the Public Meeting, the rezoning application should not be passed in its current state. Our two main concerns are:

1)     Historical significance and appropriate preservation of the building
2)     Request for adjustments beyond the permitted allowances (density and setbacks)
