Mimico Residents Association ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Seeking Directors for the MRA Board

The MRA is seeking applicants to the our Board of Directors. If you are interested in working with us, please submit a short bio including your areas of interest and expertise to info@mimicoresidents.ca. Please submit applications before March 1st. Applicants will be interviewed and vetted before the AGM.

Mimico 20/20 – Councillor Grimes’s January 22 Motion

Councillor Grimes made a motion at the Etobicoke York Community Council (EYCC) meeting on January 22nd, 2013.

Mimico 20/20 MRA Survey reminder

We are at a critical point in the Mimico 20/20 planning process. The Mimico Residents Association (MRA) would like your input to help us formalize our official position on the current version of the Mimico 20/20 Revitalization Plan (the Plan). Etobicoke York Community Council will vote on the Plan in the coming months and the MRA would like to know how you would vote, if you were a councillor.

Contacts for Issues and Complaints Re: ML Ready Mix

Following our Feb. 6th meeting with City and Provincial representatives regarding the Ready Mix Cement batching facility, we have posted the relevant contact information that residents requested for specific problems and complaints related to the site. Click for details on our blog.

The MRA is working on a detailed report of the meeting and will release it via our website within a week.

Wesley Church Update

The Wesley Mimico United Church has received $200,000 loan from United Church of Canada for zoning fees, studies, surveys and pre-building activities. The church plans to submit a Zoning Application by the end of February.  Another public meeting is planned for June, following which the Church hopes to  go to Council by October or November this year. Community Safety

There has been an increase in grafitti being painted on various buildings in our community in the past few weeks. If you spot grafitti, please call 3-1-1 to report it.

Mimico residents can also sign up to receive police bulletins regarding crime in our area by going to : secure.torontopolice.on.ca/tpsml/index.php or go to: torontopolice.on.ca and under “Serving Toronto” select “Find a Unit”.

22 Division is in charge of Mimico and their phone number is 416-808-2200. It is important to register a complaint with the police for stolen property and for verbal threats.
