Shoreline Towers OMB Appeal update

On Friday November 20, 2015 Mary Bella, on behalf of the MRA, submitted a witness statement as a Participant in the appeal regarding Shoreline Towers proposal. Read our written statement supporting the Mimico by the Lake Secondary Plan.
As of November 27th, after two weeks of all-day testimony and argument, the OMB hearing on the Mimico Secondary Plan had still not reached a conclusion. The hearing has been adjourned until February 2, 2016, at which time a further set of hearings of up to seven days will be held.

25th annual ETOBICOKE LAKESHORE CHRISTMAS PARADE

Starts @ 10 am at Dwight Ave. Travels west on Lake Shore Blvd. W. To 36th St. As part of the parade line-up 22 Division CPLC is collecting non perishable food items & new Toys for the annual Christmas Drive along the parade route.

BOOK LAUNCH – Love, Loss and Fiji Time

Lorna Livey’s second illustrated travel memoir

This book has funny and poignant stories of multi-generational travellers at a beachside hostel in Fiji. The travel stories are intertwined with memories that surfaced when I was drawing some of the many “things” my mom accumulated in her ninety-one years. The Members Exhibition in the gallery includes my art installation, “Unpacked – Telling Stories,” using drawings from the book.

Mimico Tree Lighting Ceremony

There will be live music including the Mimico Children’s Choir, free hot chocolate and advent calendars, and best of all a visit from Santa himself!  Dress warmly and bring a handmade decoration to hang from the tree.
