Mimico 20/20 Update

Etobicoke York Community Council (EYCC) deferred its decision regarding the Mimico-by-the-Lake Secondary Plan Final Report until June 18, 2013, to  allow the Director, Community Planning, Etobicoke York District, to respond to comments received at the April 9, 2013 Public Meeting.

New Townhome Development proposed at 250 Royal York

The MRA has obtained the materials related to the new development application at 250-256 Royal York Road (North of Drummond). City Planning’s Preliminary Report regarding this application will be presented at the June 18th EYCC meeting (Item slated for 10:30am).

Judson St on Goldhawk Fights Back June 17

When:  Monday, June 17  12 noon – 1pm
Where:  AM740 Zoomer Radio
MRA representatives and Judson residents will be on Dale Goldhawk’s AM 740 Radio show to discuss ML Ready Mix. Interested residents are invited to call in at  416 360 0740 or 1 866 740 4740.

Wesley Church Update

We have posted the Minutes and Presentation from our May 15 Public Meeting regarding Wesley Mimico United Church’s redevelopment plans. We have also posted some questions and answers regarding the development and rezoning application process which we posed to Matthew Premru in City Planning.
City Planning has issued a Preliminary Report regarding this Development application which will be presented at the June 18 EYCC meeting (Agenda Item). A community consultation meeting is targeted for Fall, 2013.
Heritage Preservation Services (HPS) has also reviewed the Wesley Mimico United Church application and has provided comments: Heritage Preservation Comments on Wesley Mimico Application [PDF].

Party in the Park Tuesday June 18 – Volunteers Needed

We need your help for Mimico Party in the Park – even an hour of your time between 5:00 and 9:00pm would be a huge help! We need volunteers especially for set up and take down. If you (and/or your youth/family) can help out please let us know via email

 St. Leo’s Spring Fling Community BBQ

When: Thursday June 13,  5:00pm – 7:30pm
Where: St. Leo’s Catholic School, 165 Stanley Ave., Etobicoke, ON M8V 1P1
Come one, come all! Free activities include face painting, beanbag toss, hockey shots, dance contest, a student performance and much more…
No need to cook!!! Hotdogs, hamburgers, popcorn, freezies, and baked goods will be for sale.
All funds raised will go to the School.

Fabulous Fun Fair – Seventh Street Junior School

When: Friday, June 14th 2013, 3:30pm-7:00pm
Where: Seventh St. Junior School, 101 Seventh Street (South of Lakeshore & Islington)
Raffles, prizes, games, cotton candy & popcorn, bouncy castles, fantastic food, bbq and much much more!

Mimico Party in the Park

When: Tuesday June 18, 5:30 – 8:30pm
Where: John English school yard, 95 Mimico Ave.
Join friends and neighbours at this annual celebration – live music, bouncy castles, face painting, activity booths and fair refreshments!
