In June we sent a letter to Councillor Grimes regarding the the road safety after two people were seriously injured by drivers in Mimico. Since that letter Councillor Grimes had worked with the us, and other stakeholders in Mimico, to put forward two successful motions at the July session of the Etobicoke York Community Council. The first is a comprehensive traffic study in Mimico to consider appropriate traffic calming measures for the neighbourhood. The second is a traffic study to consider possible modifications for the intersection at Station Road and Stanley Avenue. Several additional initiatives have also been taken which the Councillor Grimes sets out in his letter.
We applaud these measures and look forward to further steps being taken to address traffic safety in Mimico.
