Humber Bay Parks Master Plan and Pavilion Project

On February 16th, the City held its first public consultation on this project, which featured a new 12,000 square foot Event Pavilion in Humber Bay Park East. Residents had serious concerns about the impact such a large Event Pavilion would have on the park’s flora and fauna. You are invited to read more about the project and submit your comments at toronto.ca/humberbayparksDeadline for comments is March 8.

The next public consultation is slated for summer 2016.

Shoreline Towers OMB Appeal update

The OMB Hearing continued in February for 2 weeks. A neighbouring landowner also joined the proceedings as a Participant in the case. The adjudicator is now deliberating – a decision could take several weeks. For a history of this appeal, view our blog.

ML Ready Mix Working Group

There is a City working group looking for relocation options for the ML Ready Mix cement batching plant. A subset of the group, which includes a representative from MRA, has been created to  keep our organization and local residents informed of the working group’s progress. Read more

Storefront Humber Inc. Lease Renewal Public Consultation

Date: Monday, March 21, 2016
Time 7-8:30pm
Location: Mimico Library, 47 Station Rd

Storefront Humber Inc.’s lease with the City comes up for renewal in May 2016. The building in which they operate, at 2445 Lake Shore Blvd W, is a city-owned facility within Amos Waites public waterfront park. The MRA in consultation with other community groups is seeking input into the lease renewal terms in the hopes of improving public access to the facility. Read more
