Your answers and identity will be completely confidential. Only a summary of the survey results will be shared with the City to help them shape Mimico’s future in accordance with the wishes of Mimico Residents. This survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Toronto South Detention Centre Update – 130 Horner Ave.
A number of MRA members have inquired about the status and policy on the new jail in our neighbourhood. It is our understanding that the new Toronto South Detention Centre at this time is only open for intermittent (short term) use. The jail will open for full capacity late Fall 2012 or early Spring 2013 and will house criminals with 2 years sentence or less. The release plan is based on planned discharges to their home communities or from the courthouse (downtown) and not into our local community. More info on the new jail is available on the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services website.
Mimico Waterfront Linear Park Phase 2 to be completed this Fall
Phase 2 works will result in the creation of a 250 metre long boardwalk and multi use Waterfront Trail between Superior Avenue and Grand Harbour. Additional activities will include the creation of small pockets of wetland habitat between the boardwalk and shoreline as well as terrestrial and aquatic habitat enhancements.
