Our 2020 voting, held online, has come to a close and we are happy to announce the results here!
Two initiatives were on the ballot from this year’s cancelled AGM (for more on this cancellation, see our post here).
Motion 1, to accept the minutes of the 2019 AGM, was passed unanimously.
Motion 2, to accept the recommendations of our nominating committee and appoint Mike Majeski, Jackie Monahan, Emma Park, Mostafa Shahein and James Stack to the MRA Board of Directors and to re-appoint Timothy Ellis, John Homsy, Heather Mak, Joe Fotia and Adam Matheson to return to the board for the 2020-2021 term, passed nearly unanimously.
We are grateful to our members for accommodating the change in plans necessitated by the COVID-19 crisis. We look forward to continuing to build community in Mimico even in these challenging times. We have posted additional information about the crisis, including opportunities to seek support, on our website here. Thank you to Councillor Grimes’ staff for collecting and sharing much of that information.
