Mimico 2020 Update

There was an Etobicoke York Community Council Public Meeting for the Mimico-by-the-Lake Secondary Plan on April 9, 2013. A link to this agenda item including the Final Report prepared by City Planning is found here:

“Etobicoke York Community Council deferred its decision regarding the Final Report – Mimico-by-the-Lake Secondary Plan, until June 18, 2013, in order to allow the Director, Community Planning, Etobicoke York District, to respond to comments received at the April 9, 2013 Public Meeting.”

The motion by Councillor Grimes “to explore options and actions the City could undertake to support the implementation of this new planning framework” was subsequently ruled out of order by City Council, as the Item [the Secondary Plan] was not properly before City Council as it has not yet been approved.

The MRA sent the following questions to City Planning:

Will there be changes to the Plan before the June 18th EYCC Meeting?

M.Premru: Regarding the next M2020 staff report, this is still a work in progress so I’m not certain of the final outcome at this point.  However, I note that EYCC’s primary instruction to staff was to report back on what we heard on April 9th rather than any specific instruction on actual revisions to the Secondary Plan.  Once the report is completed, it will be made available online through the City Clerk here:  http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/decisionBodyProfile.do?function=doPrepare&meetingId=6870#Meeting-2013.EY25

If there are new supplementary materials/reports, will these be available 20 days before the Council meeting?

M.Premru: Regarding the next staff report related to Mimico 2020, this will be made available by the Clerk on or about June 10th.  The 20 day period was a mandatory requirement for when an Official Plan Amendment is being proposed.

The Mimico Residents Association will post a link to the staff report as soon as it is available.
