Liberal Peter Milczyn is our newly elected MPP. We look forward to working closely with him and his constituency office to address the provincial issues that we face in Mimico. The environment and transportation, such as the GO train and bus/streetcar service, are of special concern to all of us.

Amos Waites Park Update

Playground construction began end of May – Phase 1 will last approximately 12-14 weeks.

Outdoor Pools Begin Opening this Weekend

[From Councillor Grimes E-News] Weather permitting, 12 outdoor pools across Toronto will be open after school and on weekends beginning Saturday, June 14, with the remaining 46 outdoor pools opening after school and on weekends starting Saturday, June 21. All outdoor pools will begin their full-time summer schedules on Friday, June 27 and will remain open with varying schedules until Sunday, August 31.

Wesley Mimico United Church Development Proposal Update

Toronto City Planning and Heritage Preservation Services staff have completed their review of Wesley Mimico United Church’s revised February 2014 redevelopment application.

The report recommends that City Council approve the proposed alterations to the designated property subject to a detailed list of conditions. The proposed alterations will allow the church to retain its historic use while adding compatible community and residential uses.
